Digital Safety

At St. Aloysius P.S. we take the care and security of our pupils very seriously. However, the use of Social Media can impinge on pupils' well-being. Parents have the responsibility for supervising their child’s online presence. Legally, participants of Facebook and Instagram should be thirteen years of age. Before this age children do not have the maturity to fully understand the implications of their actions, in particular, the potential dangers or how to deal with negative issues.

Often, teachers are left dealing with consequences of such problems, which is ineffective use of their time. Therefore, we must advise that home use of these sites or mobile phones is your responsibility as parents.

To help you in your responsibilities, we have provided guidance below.
